Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I have always loved animals, which was the sole reason I became vegetarian at age 11. Then, about 6 months ago I began researching the dairy and egg farming industries and was horried by what the animals are subjected to. I decided that not eating the flesh of an animal was enough to stop these cruel industries, and gave all other animals products the flick too. I have never been healthier or happier.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

When I was in Europe I found that when I googled Vegan eating places for each city I visited, Happy Cow always came up on the first search results page. I began using the website regularly and found it extremely helpful and accurate.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Barcelona, Spain is amazing.. I found a handful of funky vegan cafes there that really kickstarted my passion for locating vegan eateries in the different places I visit.

I love making chickpea and lentil curries (I'm a crazy curry fan). I'm also a mad chocolate fan and often whip up a quick microwave chocolate pudding when I have a craving. And of course fresh fruits and vegetables are my saviour.. I definitely indulge in more than the suggested serving sizes per day!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy is hands down my favourites right now (I'm a wannabe Catwoman from way back). Lifelong love for The Shawshank Redemption, and the Aussie flick "Red Dog" - although a massive tear jerker - is a not to miss, especially for dog lovers.
