Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I can't think of any good reason to eat meat. It is not necessary for nutrition and is actually detrimental to one's health. Meat does not taste better than other foods. Raising animals for human consumption is bad for the planet. Go veg!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I love finding new vegan and vegetarian places to eat.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I am from the U.S. and have only traveled to Canada. I really enjoyed Toronto. I would love to travel around the world.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Homemade vegan sausage and broccoli and cheez rice. Check out fatfreevegan.com for great, healthy recipes. That site has taught me a lot.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
Forks Over Knives is my favorite veggie movie. I also love Dr. Fuhrman and have many of his publications. Unfortunately, I'm not ready to be as hard core as he is. No added oil or sugar. That is hard but I'd like to get there for my health.
