- About:
- I've been vegan since the turn of the millenium, think there's something to that. I like wisdom, philosophy, beauty, compassion. I think eating is one of the great pleasures evolution has endowed us with and is therefore a pillar of our happiness. I'm always keen to eat and chat so if you are in Brisbane let me know.

More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Being vegan is important to me as a compassionate person trying to live in accordance with my ethical principles. There is little doubt as a whole we are an oppressive species to non human animals. I wish to withdraw my consent from this oppression, and altering my food choices seems to me a good place to start.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Because I've used it so many times, I thought I should start giving back. Making vegan's lives easier, making their travel more fun and fulfilling, is a form of activism.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Everywhere is cool, I love Asia, Europe, Australia...travelling is an amazing experience, if only it didn't produce carbon emissions!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Well I will talk about restaurants, so I would list my top five (Not all still open alas) as: Millenium in San Francisco, Yu Shan Ge in Taipei, Terre a Terre in Brighton, England, Shakahari in Melbourne, and for a fast food place I might add Veganburg in Singapore. Lots of notable mentions, including Veganerie in Bangkok, and a few places near me. For food, Australia mangoes all the way.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
You have to read Animal Liberation by Peter Singer, I didn't until many years after I'd become vegan and I still really enjoyed it. One of my favourite books about people is "Humanity: A Moral History of the 20th Century", such an important book. As is the "Peoples History of the United States"...ahh I could go on, I adore wisdom and therefore books :)
