Hi, First of all, a young vegan family--YAY. I was never the hugest fan of My Thai, but my family really likes it. The main problem with MT is the staff--so frustrating with the language barrier, so if you want to change anything or ask a question, forget it. And the menu descriptions don't always match what they bring you. So I'm ind of a picky eater, and they once brought me a dish with totally different veggies than the ones described on the menu--ones I didn't like and I had to send it back. But the food is generally good and the fake meat is very good if you like fake meat. So it's worth it since it's convenient for tourists, whereas my favorite place Grasshopper is harder to get to.
Where are you staying? I happen to have a small vegan B&B and I find my guests are never vegan, just happen to want to stay with us. I wish more vegan folks would find me! I also ask that because there are a few new vegan places, but they are not as convenient for tourists and really require a car, like Walnut Grille in Newton. Hope that helps!
Best, Andrea

I think you should still go to My Thai if you are in Chinatown; you have to go upstairs from a grubby lobby, but the restaurant itself is clean. Clover was shut down last month for some health violations or something, but they are open again. The FT is veg, not vegan, so be careful. Otherwise the food is not bad and you can sit somewhere on the Greenway to eat. Also, it'll be easy for you to take the Red Line out to Central Sq and eat at Veggie Galaxy, very popular and great vegan desserts. My B&B is listed on Airbnb as Melville Park B&B, it's a fabulous Victorian mansion. Enjoy Boston!
