More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

1) Health: Father had coronary angina at 52 yrs; brother now has 2 stents & adult onset diabetes. I decided to not follow their paths, so went vegan 4 1/2 yrs now (May 2015). Also global warming issue of amount of methane produced by cows, & rain forest destruction to create more cows & livestock feed.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

To find vegan restaurants & other news & recipes from around the world.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Washington state & Vancouver, B.C..

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Cashews, almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, hemp protein powder, green smoothies, tofu 12 ways, kale/chard/broccoli/spinach/cauliflower/beets...

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

The Starch Solution book by Dr. John MacDougall; The new documentary Plant Based Nation; GMO-OMG film, Fed Up! film. VegNews & Vegetarian Times mags. The China Study book & Forks Over Knives documentary with Dr. T. Colin Campbell.
