About:
I became a vegetarian "cold turkey" in my early 30s after reading an article in a Peta magazine. I have "graduated" to vegan status within the past year. My favorite quote is Gandhi: The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. I also borrow a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr., via A Better Place: Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I became a vegetarian because of my love for animals. Since then, however, I have discovered all the other benefits of a compassionate lifestyle!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

Mostly to find restaurants and shopping around me.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY. Would love to go back one day! Would also love to visit the Elephant Sanctuary on TN although I don't believe they accept visitors. We have a new farm animal sanctuary not far from me!! :)

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

ANYTHING vegan! There is absolutely nothing I will not try if it is vegan. I find it fascinating and intriguing to see flavors develop with creativity. It is inspiring!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
