More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
There is truly no reason to make nonhuman animals suffer, and by choosing veganism, I am making a difference for the voiceless. Plus, the food is so much healthier and yummmier!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
To be a part of this awesome community!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
The food in Los Angeles is amazing. So many vegan options, it's like a dream come true! At some point I hope to make it to Oregon because of it's reputation for being so veg-friendly. Plus, Oregon's environment is beautiful!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
It would take a lot of searching to find anything vegan that I DON'T like, but if I had to choose just a couple, I would say veggie wraps. Veggies stuffed in a tortilla is to die for, in my opinion. Even something as simple as some greens, mushrooms, and veganaise all wrapped up is incredibly delicious. Vegan ice cream is one other thing I could never live without, especially the cookie dough flavor!
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
I would definitely suggest Diet for a New America. Although it is fairly old, the information is still applicable, and it is presented by the admirable John Robbins, who turned his back on the Baskin-Robbins fortune because he knew it was based on an unethical basis. The China Study is also a good read because it provides very in-depth explanations of WHY animal products are unhealthy, in ways the reader can understand without needing a medical degree! VegNews is a great magazine for keeping up with current happenings in the veg community. It also simply provides that relaxing read without ever coming across a discussion of animal-filled meals.
