Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I am a vegan for the animals, for the environment, and for my health. I want to cause as little pain and suffering as I can.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I joined to share reviews and recommendations of my favorite restaurants, so that others can find them and give them the business they deserve, and to find more delicious places to eat at! I love food. Nom nom nom.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
My favorite restaurants are Tao of Tea (vegetarian, super vegan-friendly), Sweet Lemon Vegetarian Bistro (lacto-vegetarian, super vegan-friendly) and Blossoming Lotus (vegan). They are all located in the Portland area. This is a great place to be veg*n! I would like to visit Voodoo Donuts and have a vegan donut.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Tao of Tea's miso flatbread; nachos and tacos with refried beans, corn tortilla chips or shells, lettuce, tomato, avocado, black olives, and onion, and homemade vegan "queso" sauce; Blossoming Lotus' pesto pasta and live fudge; cake and other treats from Sweet Pea bakery; saintly soup, heavenly kabobs, and divine Thai wraps from Sweet Lemon Vegetarian bistro; dal (Indian lentil stew) and roti (whole wheat Indian flatbread); sushi (kappa maki, inari, other veggie rolls, esp. radish sprout/cucumber/avocado Super Veggie Rolls from Sushi Town) and edamame
