More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I am uncomfortable with eating another living creature. How is it okay to eat a lamb but frowned upon to eat a dog? I support the ethical treatment of all living creatures.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I am a bit of a foodie. I also write restaurant crits on Zomato (check out my page on https://www.zomato.com/laralourens ) I believe in being prepared when I go to restaurants - I don't want to waste time or money on bad restaurants or ones that don't cater for vegetarians/vegans
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I've been to a lot of restaurants. Like A LOT. I'd love to explore some more & hopefully travel overseas to try food in foreign countries one day.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
I'm a fan of Artichokes, Brinjals, Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, Avocado, Bananas, Cinnamon, Coconut & any form of pasta. Mad about Greek, Asian and Italian food.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
I'm in the entertainment industry so this is quite complex. My top 5 movies I'd say are Moonrise Kingdom, Fight Club, The Grand Budapest Hotel, American Beauty and Birdman. Not too big on magazines, but I do enjoy the Women's Health and Shape. 'm a bit of a bookworm, so my top 5 I'd say are Wuthering Heights, Dracula, Fight Club, Bright Shiny Morning and To Kill a Mockingbird. Top 3 Stage Plays are Mamet's Olleanna, The Monkey's Paw and PG du Plessis' "Nag van Legio".
