More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Animals are sentient beings, not commodities for me to exploit. I can thrive without animal products in my diet or life. I also feel it is my responsibility to help contribute to solving world hunger, food sustainability and security, and contribute less to environmental destruction by making the choice to abstain from animal products.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I use HappyCow as a resource when traveling so why not join the community?

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness; Palacios; Columbus, Ohio; Grand Marais, MN; I would love to visit London, Durham England, Greece, Colorado, anywhere near the equator.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Chickpea flour omelets; tofu chocolate pudding; mangoes; frozen bananas; homemade whole wheat bread; chana masala; chickpea anything lol; sweet potatoes; Sweet potato/kale/black bean/coconut curry; cauliflower alfredo sauce

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

American Vegan Magazine; Vegetarian Journal; "Sistah Vegan" by breeze harper; "The Sexual Politics of Meat" by Carol Adams William Faulker's "The Sound and the Fury". I read that book four times and each time I peeled away another level of meaning. Incredible book.
