- I have been more or less vegetarian since 1991. For a while, I did eat a little fish sometimes when traveling if there weren't a lot of veg choices, but I don't really like it and now I avoid it altogether. I eat primarily vegan when at home but occasionally when I am out, I don't have vegan choices available to me and will slip. My biggest obstacle to veganism is the fact that having type I diabetes (since 1988) necessitates that I eat when I am not really hungry and when I don't have a vegan backup plan. I speak 6 languages and love to travel, read, listen to all sorts of music, remain politically active, and meet new people!
