Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Ethical, environmental. Not only is the systemic abuse of other species for our enjoyment deeply unethical, on a purely practical basis, this planet cannot sustain seven billion carnivorous humans.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Lived in Sydney and San Franciso, and have a soft spot for both. Places visited to which I'd return in a heartbeat: New York, Berlin, Helsinki, Barcelona. About to head to Japan (Tokyo, Osaka) so they may yet join the list...

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Generally foods that don't rely on faking meat or dairy to work - I usually dislike facsimile foods (I'll make an exception for TVP in mapo doufu, and perhaps for a tangy creamy addition to Mexican food) I like fresh, spicy, green, citrussy and tangy flavours. I'll walk a mile in tight shoes to avoid facon or other preservative and chemical-laden fake food.
