More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I starting eating a plant based diet for my health. I think watching Forks Over Knives and the Engine 2 Diet had a big impact on changing to a vegan diet. I've watched videos such as Earthlings, Cowspiracy and Speciesism about factory farms. My husband has been vegan for over 20 years. I met up with other vegans at meetups in the last couple years.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I have posted reviews on Tripadvisor in the past. I think HappyCow would be better website to share our experiences/opinions about vegan restaurants and vegetarian friendly restaurants. My husband and I visited a few vegan restaurants on our last road trip. We visited restaurants in Chicago and upstate NY. I took lots of photos at restaurants during our road trip. It would be cool to share the photos with other vegans.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I started traveling out of the state of MN in 2005. We took a road trip to El Sobrante, CA to see my dad. We saw the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park on that trip. My husband, Joe and I rode our motorcycles to New Mexico in 2008. We visited Carlsbad Caverns and stayed in Roswell, NM. Joe and I stayed in Steamboat Springs, CO in 2009 and in 2013. We visited the Mesa Verde National Park and explored a couple cliff dwellings. We went to 2014 Woodstock Fruit Festivalin upstate NY. I would like to visit Costa Rica, Thailand and Mexico within the next 10 years.
