More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Slowly gained an understanding of the modern farming and food production techniques and decided that I could not support the meat industry. From there learned new ways to eat and cook, which are far more interesting and creative. Best of all I'm never tired after eating, remain slim easily, have good skin, and really bright eyes all the time.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Its hard to eat out in Tokyo when friends and colleagues want to go out. I'd like to gain a better understanding of whats available in Tokyo and introduce to others as often as I can. . Im still searching for innovative reasonably priced vegan cuisine in Tokyo. To date..its been a little predictable, bento style, brown rice based with a side vegetable or legume mix.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
The best most innovative vegan cuisine I have had is the lotus heart in Christchurch and that is followed by the simpler menu but well prepared food at heart garden in St Lucia Brisbane. Loving Hut in Hong Kong is good for asian snacks with lots of tofu based noodle dishes, and set plates and is reasonably priced.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Minestrone soup with loads of beans and veges. Tofu topped salad with a sesame/onion/carrot dressing. Not a sausage roll, filo pastry wrapped around blended and fried mushroom/nuts/onion, gyoza made from blended tofu and cabbage and mushroom.
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
The face on your plate.
