- Hi everyone - it's lovely to find this website! I am very grateful of Happy Cows because when I travel I know where to find vegetarian and vegan restaurants. Even in my own city, there are still plenty of places I haven't explored yet. That would be my goal this year - to try every vegetarian places in Sydney and give you all an honest review. I hope this would be helpful for all of vegans and vegetarians out there, because I know how hard it is to be a vegetarian sometimes. But hey no excuse - we are all here for the good cause! Sometimes people complained why doing good things are harder than doing bad things? Why being vegetarian and vegans, which promotes great cause, is a hard path? Well I have to tell you that heaven's door is as narrow as an ant's hole, so to get in there only the real select people - and guys good news, we are already on the list! :) I have been vegetarian for 4 years now and last year I have pledged to be vegetarian for life! It is a great cause but very challenging at times, but I have strong faith in Buddha Maitreya.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
I love food and this site has helped me a great deal to find vegetarian and vegan restaurants around the world. It is amazing. In a world where vegetarian communities are still relatively small, we should help each other, support one another, and strengthen the bond so we can together achieve the goal of world peace, and this site is exactly aimed at this. We are all very fortunateand we should always support the website that supports us, Happy Cows!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I was in Brasil in March-May 2008 and December 2008-January 2009 and loved it there. It was an amazing place, although being vegetarian would be quite difficult to get around there, because most people has little to no concept of vegetarians and they thought vegetarians are either gay or crazy. They consider fish as salads!!!! Hahahaha ....... But I definitely wants to go back there. So far I have only been to Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, and Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina - amazing beaches, amazing scenery, great people! I would love to see other states in Brasil.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Sweet & sour gluten, deep fried oyster mushrooms, malaysian laksa, thai vegetarian curries, vietnamese vegetarian beef noodle soup (pho), vietnamese pancakes, vietnamese summer rolls, curry puffs, Indonesian nasi goreng (fried rice), vegetarian burgers with eggs and cheese, fries with tomato sauce, etc etc etc .... I am getting hungry now!
