Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
I'm a human, I live in the city, I don't need meat to live, and there's plenty of great vegan foods!! Really, if you go visit any farm and the animals give you "warm welcome" (head butts and licking!), why would everyone not turn vegan??
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
When started vegan around 2008, there were few posts on Japan. Now 2015, I recently made English page on Tokyo Vegans Club, and found Happy Cow very useful for non Japanese speakers. http://vegan.japanteam.net/en/

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Raw vegan chocolate cake (and make that a double!!). But actually, I love simple vegan stuffs as well (Marinara pizza, Caponata spaghetti, Dal curry, Natto rice, ...).
