Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
As a Pagan and a non-violent person (not quite a pacifist, because I will defend my family), I strive to do the least amount of harm. The treatment of animals and the use of them for our selfish purposes is appalling.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
To find new places and to have a safe place to talk about Veganism and any questions I might have.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Asheville, NC is amazing as far as Vegan options! I would love to visit other veg-friendly cities someday.

I've discovered a love of beans. One of my favorite dinner bases involves pasta/rice and beans, mixed with other veggies or not. It's quick, easy, and delicious!
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
I loved the Vegan's Daily Companion by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. I also liked Living Among Meat Eaters: The Vegetarian's Survival Handbook by Carol J. Adams.
