Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I have always been very environmentally conscious (I blame 90's television; especially Jeff Corwin). Upon learning about the harmful effects of the meat industry upon the environment, I started cutting out meat. I became totally vegetarian during the final year of my MDIV program when I began thinking about humankind's responsibility to care for God's earth and to facilitate the flourishing of all creation. With the certain knowledge that the meat industry was harming the earth and not providing for the flourishing of creation or creatures, I could not (in good conscience) continue eating meat. Plus, health benefits.
