More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I feel blessed to live at a point AND place in time where I can make the conscious decision to CHOOSE not to consume animal flesh or byproducts. Given that, along with the eco and environmental impacts, and it's a no-brainer. I love being vegan!

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I initially joined because I traveled frequently (every week) to various places around the US. It was frequently challenging to be able to find veg-friendly food places. HappyCow was my saving grace.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

One of my favorite vacation destinations to date has been Puerto Rico. But I have enjoyed many places in North America. I'd really like to get off this continent and go explore the rest of the world.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Chocolate + Peanut Butter = Love. Lentils, especially with Cumin. Bananas - particularly frozen and blended into Green Smoothies. Green smoothies!!! Chips... Peanut Butter (again, I know) Falafel, Hummus... the whole menu. Pizza. Nachos. Fries or Onion Rings. Burgers. Soups Stews and Chilis. Taquitos.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone provided a lot of information for me when I was just beginning to learn about veg*ism. Thrive by Brendan Brazier was a huge help in learning how to eat healthily as a vegan athlete. Skinny Bitch - when I was teetering on the fence of being vegan vs. vegetarian (3 or 4 months into being a new vegan) this is the book that sealed the deal on keeping me vegan.
