Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

For the purpose of benefiting my spiritual life, I choose not to cause any unnecessary suffering by any word or deed. If I can live very healthy, and eat quite sumptuously, without having to kill another creature, then I need not contribute to another living entity's suffering just for the taste of my tongue. Now if I was stranded on a life boat drifting out at sea, of course I would eat fish to survive. They key word is whether the suffering of that fish is 'necessary' to my survival. But with all these supermarkets around, I have nothing to worry about. =)
