More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I am vegan mostly for my health. I'm not an animal lover like most vegetarians. I see ads with vegans petting a cow and that's just not for me. Animals creep me out because they are so much like humans that its freaky to eat them. Seeing what is done to put an animal on a plate for consumption is disgusting, even though I am not a lover of animals.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

HappyCow is a great resource and helped me find strength to stick with veganism because I couldn't have done it without choices. I love variety and having it provided on a silver platter makes it so much easier.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Would love to visit Egypt, Japan, India, and a few European countries to experience their vegan cuisine. There are so many places on HappyCow that it would take a lifetime to be able to experience what life has to offer. A more short-term goal would be to eat my way up the coast into Washington and experience a slower paced lifestyle.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Tofutti/Trader Joe's vegan cream cheese, the brown rice from Heartland's Market and Kitchen in Walnut, grapefruit, lentils, and coconut...its nature's perfect food!

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Vegan Cupcakes and Cookies-Isa and Terry as they have perfected baking Christina Pirello's story was instrumental in me first thinking about veganism and macrobiotic foods Kind Life-Alicia Silverstone because it came exactly at the time when I needed to hear what she had to say.
