Dhanshyam's profile
I am a Software Engineer based from Fort Kochi. Currently working in Trivandrum. My passion - not yet discovered Personality - Introvert or something I am a teetotaller. Things I do: 1. Travel outside state atleast once a year, and office trips. 2. Watch Films, Sitcoms, Youtube videos 3. listen to songs, 4. Share insightful videos that are Science based to spread awareness. Topics range from Environment, Climate Change, Cooking, Science, Comedy, Politics etc. Are you an activist? Not contributed anything yet. I don't think spreading awareness on environment with my peers counts as activism. There is FOMO so not always possible to share awareness to everyone. And some responses are stupid and just waste my time, so better to ignore them. What motivated you to be Vegan? In my college while reading Environmental Science textbook, I saw a statement saying that Cars are major cause of air pollution in a city. Not new. At that time, when I heard air pollution, main thing that used to come in mind was Factories. Cars were just a small thing. But that made be explore further in the internet. I came across terms like Climate Change. Previously we were taught in school about Global warming, but I was not mature enough to understand those during school days. When I started learning about Climate Change, I heard Ted talk by Greta Thunberg. I felt sad, angry, helpless. Skipping forward, I always had a guilt feeling of having to eat food by killing an animal. So there were frequent episodes of stopping non veg for sometime and restarting. Then covid came, we were indoors, I got a plenty of time to learn on environment and climate change. I came across words like "Veganism". So I decided to be a vegetarian in 2021 July. It was successful till January 2026. Then what happened you ask? I decided to be Vegan. Are you 100% confident on being vegan? I am not sure. Atleast I can try. From 2021, itself I have tried my best to avoid animal products wherever possible, except in food. Means any new thing I brought should have least animals ingredients in them if possible. I am planning to do regular blood tests and see if that it works for me. Yeah, blind veganism is stupid. How will you be a vegan during travel? In India, most vegetarian food items can be veganised as the diary products are not necessary like Ghee in Dosa. Some food items are vegans inherently. Say no to food items that are not vegans. I will try my level best. Any other questions? Ready to answer..
