Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

If you love animals as much as I do, I see it as impossible to be anything but vegan! And the more I've learned, the more reasons I have found to reaffirm my conviction to be vegan...the cruelty of factory farming, benefits to human health in eating a vegan diet, the damage that animal agribusiness has done to our environment, etc.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I'm always interested in learning more about like-minded veggie people...it's a great place for community and useful resources. Plus, the restaurant guide is always a huge help when I'm traveling.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I recently went to Bali and loved it! Beautiful place, wonderful people, and the food was relatively vegetarian friendly, although we found it hard to find many vegan options. And since I grew up near New York, that's definitely one of my favorite places...lots of great restaurants.

Mmm...I love scrambled tofu and vegan cheesecake.

Favorite book...Catcher in the Rye. And my favorite cookbook is "Vegan With a Vengeance" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz. She has so many great recipes, that are relatively easy to make, with ingredients that I can actually find!
