More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I was vegetarian since a small child due to not liking the idea of eating an animal. From Jan 2014 I made the transition to vegan after looking in depth to both the health benefits for me and the economical difference it makes in comparison to being vegetarian. Ethically and morally it has been the best decision.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I travel a lot and happy cow has been an amazing tool in being able to find vegan friendly food. I also love eating out and trying new places. Without Happy cow I would have struggled to find the hidden veg friendly places.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I would love to go back to Berlin as a vegan, I loved it as a vegetarian and I'd really like to see the choices now for me. Brighton is Vegan heaven and I love going there. Paris had a lot of choices, Including a vegan take off on McDonalds called M.O.B burger, which is very cleaver. It also helps that I adore Paris :) Lisbon had many Veg places to choose from, including surprisingly nice and fresh buffet style restaurants that seem to be popular there. My dream destinations are Japan and Nepal.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Oh gosh I love lots of food! I really enjoy curry dishes, Indian and Thai especially. Thai Veg Green curry with tofu from my fav restaurant. I enjoy making all sorts of raw salads with cashew/sunflower seed dressings. I really like sometimes getting stuck into a nicely made speciality vegan dish, Sova Butcher in Dublin city is particularly great for that. I am very healthy when it comes to eating but of course I love a bit of a treat, vego bars are my favourite vegan chocolate.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

When it comes to movies about animal rights etc, I guess black fish is one of my favourite. Its a fact that meat eaters respond in a more sympathetic manner towards animals in the wild rather than farm animals. I think this documentary is a real eye opener and it shows people that using animals for sport is not ok. This is one step closer in the task of making people realise that eating them is also not ok. Cowspiriacy and Earthlings are obviously up there, I feel these sort of documentaries cater for people when they have already made the choice to go vegetarian or vegan.
