More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

My veganism started for health reasons (keep cholesterol low, general cardiac support), but as I learned more about animal cruelty it became as much or more about supporting them. The mentality that we have about killing and ingesting animal flesh is horrific to me, but the way in which we treat dairy cows and chickens is equally appalling to me.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

We vegans are limited in our choices when we eat out and if I can learn about a place through someone else's experiences, I'd rather do that than spend time and money being disappointed.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I love Maui, northern California, and Denver. A DNA test indicated that my ancestry is 85% "British Isles" so based on that, I might like to visit Great Britain.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Baked vegetables, Italian style (think zucchini, grated carrot, Roma tomato, mushroom, bell peppers, and onions baked with marinara sauce - add a little tofu "ricotta cheese" and perhaps some almond "mozzarella cheese" and bake that up!)

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
