More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I had originally started eating vegan for my health, after reading and learning about the ethical implications of veganism, my reasons not to consume animals or the products derived from them grew to include compassion, animal rights, environmentalism, sustainability, and humanitarian consciousness.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I want to connect with like-minded individuals, develop friendships, discuss topics relating to vegetarianism/veganism, to foster positive personal growth, and to discover places to eat and shop that offer vegan options.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I enjoy any area rich in plant life, whether that be in a desert, forest, plain, or any other environment(I am not at peace in urban areas). I would love to someday explore the entire continent of North America, starting with the pacific coast from Mexico to Alaska and beyond.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Nutritional yeast and hot sauce are my go to comfort condiments/additions to many recipes. My guilty pleasure food is the recently veganized Girl Scouts: Thin Mint cookies. I am overjoyed at the rate at which new vegan products are being introduced by innovative companies that care about making plant-based foods a part of everyday life for everyone, making the choice to go vegan that much easier.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

I would recommend watching Plant Pure Nation(which is now available to watch on Netflix), I also recommend the YouTube channels BiteSizeVegan and NutritionFacts.org they are both very well researched, cited, and presented.
