Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I am vegan because I don't feel it is necessary for animals to be tortured and killed for my meals. Vegan food can be far tastier, more pleasant and a damn sight healthier than those with animal products.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

Having downloaded the Happy Cow app, I wanted to be able to add reviews and information about vegan outlets. Also the more support we have, the better.

Found some wonderful vegan cafes in Spain, in both Zaragoza and Barcelona. Looking forward to trying vegan food in Thailand.

Almost anything/everything I cook! I mostly cook from scratch, so stir-fries with or without various kinds of tofu are high on the list. I've recently started baking, as vegan cakes and the like are quite expensive and involve a trip to my local wholefood store. Home made vegetable soup with various spices and herbs can be amazingly tasty. The vegan "cheeses" that are now becoming available are great, because that I did miss cheese a little.
