Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I endorse veganism, because non-vegan practices reduce animals in a way that is not morally acceptable. Animals are beings that are capable of consciously experiencing. I perceive an animal not as a body/ an object, but as the owner of a body/ as a subject, who is able to follow self-set purposes (however explicit the self-setting process may be). So if I want to deal with an animal in a certain way, I have to ask myself if the animal would consent with that deal. If not, then I can't deal with the animal in the way I intended, unless there are concerns of other beings that are weighing more. Pleasure, enjoyment or convenience are not concerns that are weighing more than living without suffering or in a way that enables one to follow ones own or natural purposes.
