I don't know about other countries, but in Australia, where I live, all the MacDonald Takeaway joints serve fried potato chips pre-treated with animal fat. Be on the look-out if you are a patron of this, otherwise, popular restaurant brand.

In addition to the animal fat issue, non-organic potatoes are on the list of veggie with high chemical residues.
