am traveling to San Jose, Costa Rica, and looking for any advice on vegetarian- and/or vegan-friendly eating establishments. I'm sure we'll find them once there, but just wondered if any travelers could give us a heads up in advance? Thanks.

    Hola Rebecca!

While I have not yet been there, Costa Rica is very high on my list of places to visit. I hope you have a great trip and would love to hear how it goes!

Beyond the places Eric mentioned that are listed here, I also came across this neat blog with some great photos: It is not San Jose specific but hopefully you can glean some helpful info and inspiration anyway!

    Best wishes!

ps. It would be wonderful if you could share photo's from your Costa Rican adventures with us, if you have an account with a free online photo hosting site such as

    Thanks Cascadian.

This will be my 2nd visit to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from my previous 1 week trip, although I went to San Jose, Montezuma, La Selva, etc. before.

THIS time I will have lots of pics to share. That blog you mentioned is great -- I just bookmarked it and saved important info from it on my cell phone for use down there. Thanks!

I do have membership at, a paid photo hosting site (paid for me, free for viewers of photos), where I post a lot of my travel photos: It's here I will add my Costa Rica photos; plus, I will also upload food pictures to when we get back and review the restaurants we ate at down there.

Thanks, and hope you get to visit Costa Rica soon! It's gorgeous.
