Vegan Health & Nutrition Discussion Forum

Hi.
I have been donating blood for some years now and I only started my vegan lifestyle a couple of months ago.
Since then, every time I have donated blood, I have to apply pressure on the puncture site several hours or else it starts bleeding again.
I am super healthy and I take care that I get enough vitamin K.
Can anyone explain why I bleed so easily?

"Easily" is a rather subjective adverb. A vegan tends to have thinner blood than the average American, because of the amount of saturated fat and cholesterol consumed.
