"Industrial farming" is not as descriptive as the term coined, I believe, by Mason & Singer in their 1980 book, "Animal Factories", - "Factory Farming".

We were first exposed to the slaughterhouse department of the factory farming industry by Upton Sinclair a century ago. Many excellent books have been written since.

I found the article to be little more than mild criticism, considering the extreme suffering caused by the industry. It addresses the fate of female calves, but doesn't even mention the horrific fate of the male calves.

Whether its industrial farming or organic farming, on green pastures, it is completely unsustainable. Please watch Cowspiracy, as it is currently on Netflix.
