- Good quality vegan food
This is a fully vegetarian restaurant with a varied, international menu which always includes three or four vegan options. The owner was very friendly and took the time to go through the vegan options, even though these are not marked on the menu, and the current location has a colourful theme and an authentic, welcoming feel; normally I do not like being the only customer in a restaurant, but here I did not feel rushed or under scrutiny. I'll be interested to try the new venue (Admiraal de Ruijterweg 331 (tram 12 or 14 to Bos on Lommerweg)) which opens on August 1st 2014 (current location closes July 26th). The food was delicious and the portion size generous; after one main course I was full, and I particularly liked the number of accompanients – five alongside a dish of curry and bulgur. I tried the wonderful cashew nut curry which cost 13.50 Euros – normal for the area, whilst three courses can be had for as little as 16.50. It's just important to remember that in constrast to some places in Amsterdam which no longer accept cash, this is the only method of payment accepted here.
