Arrived in Barcelona for a short break and headed to the Juicy Jones just off the Ramblas. Shocked to find it had closed down and turned into an artisanal-beer bar. Luckily this Juicy Jones is still alive and well. Fantastic shake of the day with almond milk, plantain and mango. Menu was also delicious, and very filling, with green beans and potatoes topped with chopped veggie sausage for starter; the thali main (a plate with 3 different curry sauces, rice, popadoms, chutney and bahji) and a wonderfully sweet Catalan Cream dessert (a bit like a creme caramel with a cruchy caramalised sugar topping. I couldn't help stealing a bit of my companion's meal, which started with gazpacho, and a main of mushroom-filled pasta with a delicious basil sauce and finished with a large slice of cheesecake with strawberry topping. The meals were a bit more sophisticated than I remember from the last time I visited, but this is sitll hands-down the best vegan restaurant in Spain (and who knows, maybe even in the whole of the Mediterranean!)
