• Game Changer

For me, this is still the vegan pace-setter in Barcelona. Quite a lot has changed here since our first visit in 2014 so I’ve updated my original review. It’s now 100% vegan for a start. This is an absolutely gorgeous intimate establishment serving intricately creative tapas style dishes in a splendid modernist but homely Barrio Gotico setting. For €29 you get a house appetiser followed by your choice of starter, main and desert or you can skip desert and pick another starter or something from the snack or breads menu such as their fabulous croquettes or a Catalan tomato bread. The food is truly excellent and prepared with dedicated precision. You will find some fantastic seasonal combinations here, the menu is dynamic and changes regularly. Rasoterra promotes the 'Slow Food' concept which puts emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and the distance traveled to reach the dining table. The natural wines here are selected very carefully which (in their own words) “mirror and showcase the lands that surround the city”. This is still unequivocally my top vegan establishment of all time. Updated from previous review on 2016-04-15
