  • Fabulous vegan blueberry cashew 'cheese' cake

We stopped in at Gratitude for coffee and cake and immediately lamented the fact that we couldn't possibly fit in what read to be a hearty tempeh salad or tempeh burrito, a refreshing contrast to the predominant mock meat focus of most veg places in Munich. Although the friendly waitress was apologetic about the price of the vegan cashew cheesecake (6 euros), she provided a wonderful explanation of the cake and we couldn't help ourselves. We shared the blueberry and chocolate one between the two of us. It was decadent, rich and delicious and certainly enough for us both. Gratitude is a lovely place and would highly recommend going there. Looking at the menu, while the options are limited, there seems to be an emphasis on quality over quantity, and perhaps less focus on mock meat than found in other Munich establishments. Do visit.
