  • An Oasis Among a Desert of Non-Veg Options

So, if you're vegan and stuck in Riverside/Corona, expect to have few true vegan/vegetarian eating options. Oasis (not open Saturdays) was definitely welcome to our hungry tummies. The menu is all vegetarian, and vegan items are clearly marked. The owner, a Seventh-Day Adventist, has created a place that's very considerate, and the workers are friendly and knowledgeable about the vegan options. The Taquitos were crisp and not too oily (skillful when something is deep-fried). The Carnitas was excellent. The seitan was flavorful, and the salsa works very well. I would've liked some cabbage in there, but that's just me. The Tamale was HUGE! The flavors were good, but not great, but it was nice to have a fully vegan tamale. The masa was soft and creamy. Very different from the harder tamales we've had previously. The only real negative was the hot dog. The dog itself had a flavor we weren't used to, but the bun was really good. They have juice smoothies, burgers, and other things too.
