  • A lifesaver in Tver!

In a town with so few veg-friendly options, this sushi bar is a lifesaver! Everything is freshly made, and there are numerous vegan options on the menu, including cucumber sushi, shiitake sushi, a veggie & tofu sushi, four types of teriyaki noodle dishes, seaweed salad with a sesame sauce, hot chips with ketchup, and a variety of teas and bottled juices. Whilst the menu is in Russian and veg options aren't marked, there are pictures of every dish and the staff are super-friendly and very willing to help figure out what's veg. There's also free WiFi, so you can use the Google Translate app to live-translate the menu if needed. Whilst I'm not usually a massive fan of mushrooms, the shiitake sushi here is super tasty and I get it every time! The tofu and veg has fresh tofu, which looks suspiciously like cream cheese but isn't :-) I found the teriyaki noodles a touch too sweet, but they were still a nice treat. I always leave here feeling full, yet never pay more than a few hundred rubles (a few dollars) for my meal, so it's great value. They are super generous with condiments, too, and the ample wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce are all free. I love that everything is made to order, that they're open quite late, and that takeaway is available. The location is great- right in the middle of town- and the signage is super large and in English, so it's easy to find. Highly recommended! :-)
