It's a rare pleasure to find any restaurant as satisfying as Master of India! The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients, the dishes are lovingly crafted, and you'll be surprised how cheap the bill is when you come to pay. They're also great for vegan options. There are several delicious standard Indian choices, and other meals can be prepared with special instructions. On my last visit I told the manager that I love korma but don't eat dairy dairy, and he advised that it was possible to make something similar without cream. Despite not being on the menu, the vegetable madrasi was absolutely stunning (especially with hot Indian pickles). I added Master of India to Happy Cow because of the fluency the staff have with vegan requirements - including thoughtful touches like recommending vegan breads. But I also added this place because the quality (and value) of the food is always excellent, likely the best of any restaurant in Taupo.
