- The owner was super friendly!
The food is great and it's Shojin-ryori, traditional Japanese Buddhist vegetarian food. Definitely a must if you're in tokyo! Also very cheap and the owner was so friendly and helpful even though she only spoke a little english. IMPORTANT: It was a bit difficult to find the place because the location on the map shows the wrong place. The location is under the railway tracks in a mall called 2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN. Address in japanese 東京都台東区上野5丁目9 If you're using the happycow app: just north from the doughnut plant at the street crossing under the railway tracks.
