  • An amazing vegan experience!

My partner and I had some trouble finding this cafe - there is some old signage labelling it "Halo Coffee Bar" or something like that. It is just off the corner of York and Elder St, if you hit the bus station and bus station lane you have gone too far! Look for the Halo sign - I spotted the HappyCow sticker which gave it away. The cafe is lovely and cosy and the staff were really friendly. We ordered the soup of the day - French onion - and it was topped with a lovely cheese, served with bread and vegan margarine. The server was kind enough to offer to split one serving between two bowls as my partner and I wanted to share it. My partner had the Cheddar BLT as his main which was really nice with tempeh bacon. My partner asked for no tomato and they kindly offered to substitute that with peppers which was great. I ordered the fish burger which came with a delicious tartare sauce and freshly cut potato wedges. It was so filling! We shared a slice of the peanut butter chocolate cake which came with a side of chocolate sauce - it was divine, very rich and lovely! Would like to come back again.
