my mum and i visited this place with my omnivorous aunt and cousin who live just round the corner. the meat-eaters enjoyed the "san bei mushroom" ("three cup 'chicken'", a typical taiwanese dish) and another sweet and sour mushroom dish. i liked the fact that the mushrooms were crispy, but thought that both textures tasted the same, with only a different sauce covering the mushrooms. it would have lent some variety if different mushrooms or styles of preparation had been used (i stand to be corrected if they had - but if the same mushrooms had indeed been used, perhaps the staff could have suggested an alternative dish?). we also ordered rojak, mixed veggie, tofu (all were okay) and kang kong (my mum found that too salty). i was late for dinner and my family did the ordering, so i don't know if these dishes are vegan or if the menu indicates which are vegan. it's a very laid-back eatery with a neighbourhood vibe. i would visit again if i'm in the area or if my cousin is open to sharing another animal-free meal with me, but as it isn't in central singapore i wouldn't say it's a place you'd have/want to specially make the trek all the way to the west for.
