  • Extensive vegan menu

I love Japanese food and it used to be that they had a footnote on their main menu that any vegetarian dish could be made vegan, and now they have their own 2-page vegan menu full of options. I was there in a group of 8 and they didn't have enough menus for us all so we shared one between two. I love tofu and opted for the agadashi tofu to start, a tofu dish with a green tea base as main, and a side of sweet potato maki. I've had a tofu & noodle dish from here before and I think I'd go for that next time - the main I had was tasty but didn't have the oomph of flavour that I like, but was nice to try. They offer refills of green tea so I went with that, and didn't ask about dessert but they have offered a vegan dessert in the past - a rice pancake with a bean filling - so it's work asking if you want something sweet to end the meal. We weren't waiting too long for food and it comes out as ready rather than as a set starter, main, then dessert. Service was fine. This was my 4th or 5th time there and I will definitely be back. Book in advance as it gets very, very busy, especially in the evenings.
