• Vegan option at Mercado Campo de Ourique!

This food stall is inside Mercado de Campo de Ourique, next to other food stalls selling fish or meat. The market is similar to the Mercado da Ribeira (Time Out Market) but much smaller, less touristy and crowded. People meet here and enjoy the various food and drink options. Buying your groceries isn’t the main reason to come here, and is only possible till about 2 PM. We enjoyed the atmosphere there. Vegana Burgers offers 8 different vegan burgers, creatively put together. They are also gluten free, and while I was very pleased to find vegan options at this market, the burger I had chosen was just OK. I would have preferred wheat or rye bread and a heartier patty… But their focus is on healthy food. A burger, accompanied by salad, was 8,10 €. It is a good option when you are in the area or plan to visit the market or Prazeres cemetery. It is a good place to go when you are accompanied by friends who would like to eat fish or meat, as there is something for everyone at the market. Vegana Burgers seems to be an expanding food chain, there's at least another one in Lisbon.
