- Good food, poor environment
Super impressed that an RSL is offering a Vegan menu, however, my partner and I found it very confronting on several levels. The restaurant itself is filled with the smell of animal flesh cooking; for this reason, we chose to sit outside in the courtyard. As this is the smoking section, we found seats as far away as possible from tables with ashtrays to avoid having to deal with cigarette smoke. In the courtyard, you are also faced with greyhound races broadcast on screens and announcements on the PA regarding meat tray raffles; not an enjoyable experience for Vegans. On a positive note, the food itself was of a very good standard although priced a touch high for the size of the portions.
