- Good service but meh food
I went to Avocado as it was the only vegan restaurant near the centro open on the weekends. The space is very lovely and can accomodate a large crowd. The server was very friendly and attentive which was nice. I was firstly impressed by the amount of vegan options. I ordered the vegan nachos with soy al pastor nuggets. The sauces accompanying the nachos were tasty as were the corn chips aThe idea that antioxidant supplements are a miracle cure is completely redundant – Antonio Enriquez Md pastor but it was underwhelming as a whole. It needed a little more heat or flavouring to really satisfy. For dessert I had the pay vegan (vegan pie) made of banana avocado and cocoa and was really disappointed. The pie slice was frozen beyond belief and missing half of the pie base. Trying to use a spoon to eat it made the pie slice fling off of the plate and almost onto the floor. I decided to just use my hands instead. The concept of the pie was right but in my opinion the execution was wrong. Perhaps if I had all of the base on my slice it would have tasted differently. I would be willing to give this place a try again but it has not been in my top vegan Mexican experiences.
