- ok, not great
Reasonable prices and a fair selection of vegetarian and vegan food, which is mostly Indian, with the exception of a few dishes - one of which was falafel with hummus & pitta bread. First off, if someone asked me to recommend a restaurant with authentic Indian cuisine, I couldn't honesty suggest this place - not that the food is bad at all, but it was a bit too generic in terms of taste and not really that authentic if I'm honest. Having said that, the food was for the most part freshly made and quite delicious, so no real complaints there. I suspect the salsa was out of a jar but nonetheless it was tasty enough. The negative sides were unfortunately quite apparent - it took a while to place an order, even though the waitresses at points weren't particularly busy. Then once the order was placed it was another 35 minutes before the dishes arrived. That's longer than I'd expect in the UK, so in Taiwan where they're used to getting their food within minutes, that is too long to wait. Service was pleasant enough, but one waitress seemed more preoccupied with choosing which MP3s to play from her phone via the restaurant speakers than taking care of tables. The songs she played were pretty awful unfortunately. Overall it wasn't a massively great visit, but the food was nice even if it wasn't outstanding. I'd suggest dropping the waitress (wannabe DJ) and adding an extra chef. Then things could really be outstanding.
