  • Great Vegan Restaurant

This was a great find - thanks to whoever added it to Happycow! This restaurant is run by someone clearly passionate about promoting vegan food, so much so that he gave up his job as an engineer 17 years ago to run a vegan restaurant, first one nearby and then he moved to the current location a few years ago. Food is fairly typical Taiwanese fusion food, with a few interesting twists. I found the fresh pineapple and kimchi side as delicious as it was unique, and it was one the few places in Taiwan I've found Tempeh (fermented soy product), which was also cooked perfectly. They also produce their own drinks and vegan baking. Prices were reasonable, with healthy, satisfying set meals starting at around NT150, and NT300 got me a feast (side, main, drink and dessert). It's a little out of the way but only a few stops on the orange line from Guting, and a short walk from the station. On my visit it was very busy with what looked to be local residents stopping by for dinner.
