- Very Good Quality Fruit, Cheap Tofu, Nice Breads
I love going here, very good quality dates, and quite literally the best bananas I've ever had in my life. Even better than whole foods fair trade organic bananas, which are much better in my opinion than Dole bananas. They usually do not have organic bananas however, only the conventional at a standard 49cents/lb. The bananas are very creamy and sweet, comparable to the quality you'd get in the tropics (Costa Rica/Thailand). This only applies for their usual and preferred source from Mexico; the sticker they have has a spooki lady on it. Other than the bananas, they have good dates like I said, actual local honey (if you're into that kinda thing), some exotic fruits (like lychee's), Jams and preserves, very good mangoes, bread, and cheap tofu. The watermelons are also consistently good quality. Other than that though, the fruit is relatively similar to regular fruit you'd find elsewhere, but slightly better quality and less "damage." Bought a box of mangoes (16 nearly 1lb mangoes) for $10, Ataulfo mangoes (the yellow/gold kind popular in the Philippines), which is amazing compared to the local prices. PS - Don't try buying from their distributor (unless it's more convenient), they charge the exact same as the shop. It's easy to do so though.
