- Tasty, fun, filling vegan fusion Taco Food truck
Falacos = falafels tacos; delicious vegan fusion food truck, TexMex style. Tasty Organic vegan tacos in Houston's far northwest suburbs, where vegan food can be scarce. Fairly new food truck based out of Conroe, TX, followed on social media for daily locations. They were in the Woodlands the day we drove north from H-town, and the food was well worth the drive! Usually 2-3 falafel/balls combinations are offered daily, with a couple of appetizers & desserts, and a flavored water and kombucha. Falafel menu rotates every couple of weeks. The Amazeballs sold out before out late afternoon arrival. My non-vegan lunch companion enjoyed the Paulie, an Italian style combo of garlic hummus, 2 falafel balls, tomato gravy, mushrooms, spinach & parsley topped with "noots" (vegan Parmesan made with nutritional yeast) served on a corn tortilla. I feasted on the tasty Texas BBQ - dill pickle hummus, 2 falafel balls, BBQ sauce, Cole slaw, fried onions, pickles & jalapeños, on a corn tortilla. We both enjoyed the bottomless strawberry & lemon infused waters; pleasantly thirst quenching on a warm southeast Texas afternoon. Dessert was the nutty chocolate balls; cashews, coconut, dates, maple syrup, cacao blended & rounded into bite-sizes melt in one's mouth morsels of deliciousness, topped with slivers of almonds. Service was friendly, quick & with big smiles. Inexpensive; lunch with drinks & dessert for two came to $25. While portions satisfyingly filling for lunch, might want more for dinner, or start with the appetizers offered. Picnic tables in the parking area for seating, and trash bins for recycling & compost. Updated from previous review on Friday April 29, 2016 Tried the Amazeballs - very aptly named! Baked quinoa patties topped with garlic hummus, banana peppers, mango chutney & smoked paprika. Yes, worth the wait. Dined on the delightfully delicious kimchee platter at Conroe Farmers Market, definitely worth the drive.
